LG's VX8500 has sold more than two million units worldwide since its launch early last year.
For the second consecutive year, global and regional digital leader LG Electronics has won acclaim at the 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Awards.
LG won an award for its bestselling 'Chocolate' CDMA mobile phone - VX8500 in the Subscriber Technology Innovation category. The handset has sold more than two million units worldwide since its launch early last year. The Subscriber Technology Innovation award is given by the CDMA Development Group (CDG) to companies that demonstrate new and innovative services and design.
'In receiving this award, LG reaffirms its leadership in the global handset market,' said K.W. Kim, President, LG Electronics, Middle East and Africa. 'We will continue to develop our 3G technology as well as our premium product offering - the 'Chocolate' phone.'
'The 'Chocolate' phone was created with design at its heart, focusing not just on looks but also on other technology aspects. It has set new standards in mobile phone design with its sleek minimalist look, glossy finish, touch-sensitive keypad and fade-away LCD screen,' added Kim.

The 3G CDMA Achievement Awards were initiated eight years ago by the CDMA Development Group (CDG). They are presented to companies and individuals for excellence in deploying 3G CDMA networks, products and services.
The resulting products and services take advantage of the inherent benefits and latest technological developments of 3G CDMA, offering consumers state-of-the-art terminals in terms of both features and packaging.
The winners of the Industry Achievement Awards were chosen by a selection committee of CDG executive officers and representatives of industry associations and the trade media.
